Today’s Topic: Strap On Play using Cloud 9’s New Strapless Dildo

Hi, I’m Kylie, and today we are going to learn all about Strap-on Play, as well as introduce you to Cloud 9’s New Strapless Dildo, the newest edition to the Cloud 9 family of products.

strapless dildo

Many women, men and couples are interested in exploring strap-on play together as a way to open up erotic possibilities in their love life.

The key to building your strap-on toy sales is to make sure that you and your customers are educated on strap-on play, so they can try out new ways to explore sexual empowerment and pleasure together.

Strap-on play is an erotic activity that couples can do together that builds trust, opens communication, fulfills fantasies and creates new ways to explore their orgasmic experience.

Curiosity About Strap-on Play Can Translate into Sales

couple shopping for sex toys

With the increase in popularity of strap-on play becoming more mainstream, men, women and couples are becoming more curious about this new erotic adventure they can explore with their partner.  This gives you, the sales representative, the opportunity to educate the consumer about strap-on play and help them choose appropriate pleasure products to explore this new exciting activity.

What is Strap-on Play?

strap ons

Strap-on play is the use of a strap-on dildo (or faux penis) worn by one partner to sexually penetrate the other partner.  Strap-ons can be worn by anyone regardless of gender or sexual orientation but are usually worn by women to penetrate their partner either vaginally or anally.  Female to male strap-on sex has a specific name called pegging.

Why Use a Strap-on?

There are many reasons why a couple may want to use a strap-on for sexual play.  These include:

Female to Female Sex:  Strap-on play is a popular way for same sex women to achieve intercourse together with over 50% of queer-identified women taking part in it as a regular sexual activity.

Pegging: Strap-on play between heterosexual couples is also on the rise as well, with more than 50% of straight men admitting they enjoy anal sex with their female partners.

Erectile Dysfunction: Hollow strap-ons can be worn by men who have difficulty getting and/or maintaining an erection in order to facilitate penetrative sex.

Longer Lasting:  Strap-ons can also be used by men to last longer in the bedroom and give him more stamina, thus prolonging intercourse and giving their partner more stimulation.

Oral Pleasure: Some couples enjoy simulating oral sex on a strap-on dildo, which can be visually stimulating.

Role Reversal: Some couples like roleplaying with power exchange and/or role reversal (gender bending) in which the female takes on the active role of a “top” and the male takes on the receptive role as a “bottom”.  For men this allows them to be more receptive, vulnerable and to give up control in the bedroom. For women they can enjoy being in the seat of power and giving pleasure to their partner.

What is Pegging?

Pegging is a sexual activity where a woman penetrates a man anally using a strap-on dildo.  Pegging allows couples to explore their sexual boundaries and fulfill their fantasies for deeper intimacy.  For men, pegging can be a highly erotic and orgasmic experience because it involves stimulating the prostate gland or male g-spot, which can lead to more powerful, as well as multiple orgasms.  According to Rubie Ryder from Pegging Paradise, “Pegging can provide him with orgasms 10 times more powerful that he has ever experienced with a lot more ejaculate.”

While pegging may seem like a new thing, it has actually been fairly popular for quite some time.  In fact, in 1998, the first “Bend Over Boyfriend” instructional video on “pegging” was released and since then interest in pegging has grown.

The term was popularized in 2001 when Dan Savage and his readers of “Savage Love” recognized that there was no name for the act of female on male strap on sex.  Thus, “pegging” was born.

These days pegging has become even more popular due to greater awareness of the male prostate, more open views about sexuality, and couple’s willingness to explore a variety of sexual practices and power exchange scenarios together.  The act of pegging has become a “thing” now, featured pop culture TV shows and films.

What and Where is the Prostate Gland?

prostate walnut

The prostate gland (or p-spot) is a sexual gland, about the size of a walnut, located just inside the anus 2-3 inches.  It is positioned beneath the bladder at the base of a man’s penis, just in front of his rectum, above the perineum. It is responsible for “secret[ing] a slightly alkaline fluid” and “contains some smooth muscles that help expel semen during ejaculation.”  The prostate is highly sensitive and can be stimulated by pressing up into the perineum (externally), or by penetrating the anus (internally) with a finger, anal toy, or dildo.

Why Would a Couple Want to Engage in Pegging?

couple sex communication

There are plenty of reasons why a couple may want to try female to male strap on sex.  The foremost reason would be that it is pleasurable. For the man it provides a way to stimulate his prostate which can lead to very intense as well as multiple orgasms.  Women can also get pleasure from pegging as well, by using a strapless strap on like Cloud 9s new Strapless Dildo, in which she inserts part of the dildo in her vagina to pleasure her G-spot.

Strap-on Sex for Stimulating the G-spot

Women can enjoy g-spot stimulation and cervical stimulation with strap-on play as well.  Interestingly enough, the g-spot which is also called the female prostate is located in the same area on a woman as the prostate gland is in a man, just beneath the urethral sponge.  It is an erogenous zone located 1-3 inches inside the vagina on the front (anterior) wall.  Stimulation of this area can lead to powerful orgasms and sometimes female ejaculation, in some women.

How to Use a Strap-on

Communication:

Before you get started with strap-on sex it is important to talk to your partner first to see how open they are to the idea.  Once you have both consented to exploring strap-on play, then you are ready to indulge in this erotic pleasure.

couple pegging

Anatomy:

For women, it may be difficult wielding a strap-on for the first time, because it is not a part of their physical anatomy, so they have no reference on how to use it.  Also, a strap-on has no nerve endings, so the wearer can’t feel the layout of the anatomy of who they are penetrating. For this reason, it is important to get the lay of the land, so-to-speak, by using your fingers first to penetrate your partner’s vagina or anus and feel around for their g-spot or p-spot first.  The anal canal is curved so doing this will give you an idea of the angle you will need to use for penetration. Once it is located, you can then have a mental image of where it is located so you can find it with your strap-on dildo.

Practice Solo First:

Another way to get use to sporting a strap-on is to wear it for a while before you intend to have sex with your partner, to get use to the feeling of it attached to your body.  Trying walking around with it on, or practice thrusting and moving your hips. For strapless strap-ons this is especially true because part of the dildo is inserted in the wearer’s vagina, which needs to be held in place by squeezing the vaginal muscles.  Wearing a strapless dildo beforehand will help increase stamina and build expertise. Plus, it will make you much more comfortable and less self-conscious when you do go to use it for real.

Warm Up:

Whether you are engaging in vaginal or anal strap-on play, engage in lots of foreplay and warm your partner up first.  For anal play, it is a good idea to begin with an external massage of the buttocks and anal opening first, to prepare your partner for penetration.

Lubricant:

Use lots of lube when engaging in strap-on play.  The anus doesn’t self-lubricate like the vagina, and sex toys can be can be dry and cause friction without lube.  Cloud 9 Novelties Paraben Free Water Based Personal Lubricant is safe to use on any sex toy material.

Relax:

For anal sex it is important for the partner who is being penetrated to be very relaxed.  The more relaxed they are the easier it will be to open up.  Many couples enjoy taking a bath beforehand to relax and clean themselves thoroughly before anal sex.

couple taking bath

Positions:

Try various sex positions.  This is rather obvious, but some sex positions will be easier than others when using a strap on.  For pegging, doggie style is the most popular, but you could also try missionary with his hips propped on a pillow and legs raised, and spooning may be a comfortable position to try as well.

Go Slow:

The anus is not like the vagina. It doesn’t stretch as much and isn’t as resilient.  So, begin slowly. Start with simply rubbing the tip of your dildo over the opening of the anus until your partner gets used to that and begins to open for you. When they are ready, you can slowly insert just the head of the dildo.  If this feels good, continue, slowly inserting the dildo one inch at a time, until your partner becomes accustomed to it.

Feedback:

Get feedback.  This is very important when you are having any type of sex, but in particular for strap on sex and anal sex.  You can’t feel with your dildo, so it is hard to know how deep you are thrusting, or at what angle or how that feels to your partner.  In addition, with anal sex the one being penetrated should be in control over the depth, force and speed of the penetration, so their feedback is important.  Watch for body language and ask for feedback on whether what you are doing feels good or not. Stop if your partner experiences any discomfort or pain. This means stop moving right away and wait to get instructions from your partner on whether you should continue or withdraw completely.

Control:

Use your hand to hold your strap-on and to position it better as well as for more control during thrusting.

Hygiene:

Cleanliness is very important when engaging in anal play because the anus harbours bacteria.  You may want to consider using an anal douche to clean the rectum before engaging in anal play.  Never insert a toy into her vagina if it has been in the anus without thoroughly sterilizing it first.  Anyways clean and sterilize anal toys before and after use. Only use nonporous anal toys for anal play.  Porous toys can harbor bacteria and STIs even after cleaning and can not be sterilized 100%. The Cloud 9 Strapless Dildo is made out of high quality silicone and can be sterilized for safe use and hygienic anal play.

couple condom

Use Protection:

You can use a condom over a strap-on during strap-on play if you plan to engage in both anal and vaginal sex, or if sharing the strap-on with multiple partners, to avoid cross-contamination of bacteria. For oral sex dental dams work for both cunninglingus and rimming (oral to anal sex).  Gloves are also a good idea for fingering as well.

Types of Strap-ons

There are several different types of strap-ons available on the market today.

Harnesses

Harnesses feature straps that straddle the waist and thighs and usually have removable dildos held in by an O-ring.  Harnesses are usually sold separately, unless they come in a kit. Unfortunately, harness strap-ons do not offer internal stimulation for the wearer.

Strapless Dildos

A strapless dildo, is a strap on designed for women to wear without the aid of straps or a harness. Ideal for lesbians or heterosexual couples, the strapless dildo is made similar to a double dildo in which the woman holds the smaller bulb part of the dildo inside her vagina by squeezing her PC muscle and uses the longer end of the dildo to penetrate her partner.

strapless dildo

The benefits of using a strapless dildo is skin-to-skin contact and the wearer is able to feel the thrusting movements better which eliminates the disconnection that some women experience with a standard strap-on.  Also, the bulb massages the wearer’s G-spot as she holds it inside, giving her pleasure during the experience as well. If vibration is included, this offers the wearer additional stimulation. The Cloud 9 Strapless Dildo features a large vibrating bullet (above) that fits inside the dildo to ensure maximum pleasure.

Clenching the PC muscle is good for the vagina and libido as it is akin to doing kegel exercises that strengthen the PC muscle.  Clenching the PC muscle aids in sexual arousal and, over time, kegel exercises lead to better, stronger and more intense orgasms.

Finally, if you need some additional support a strapless dildo can also be used with a harness to aid in keeping the bulb inside the vagina and for greater control.  However, most people find they enjoy the freedom of wielding their strapless dildo without a harness. That way they don’t have struggle with straps in the heat of the moment.

How to Choose a Strap-on

To help your customer choose the appropriate strap-on for them, there are certain considerations they should think about before deciding.  You can assist them in selecting the perfect toy by asking appropriate questions and by providing your expert knowledge about strap-on toys. The following shows you the unique features of the Cloud 9 Strapless Dildo, as well as what to look for when buying a strap-on.

how to choose a strap on

Shape

The shape of a strap-on dildo one of the most important considerations when choosing a strap-on dildo.  A strap-on dildo should have a slight curve in order to facilitate strap-on play for both anal and vaginal penetration.  This allows the user to get the right angle when penetrating their partner, so they can hit the prostate gland or g-spot for more pleasurable stimulation.

Design

designDesign and quality of a strap-on is also important.  The best designs are those with fewer moving parts or pieces, as there is less to break down over time.  A solid, strapless design is ideal for this reason.

Material

Silicone is the best type of softer, flesh-like material for many reasons.  It is completely body safe, hypoallergenic, phthalate free, and can be disinfected.  Silicone is also firm, yet supple and flexible, so is perfect for strap-on play and penetration.  Silicone also has a long shelf-life and will not break down like other soft materials over time, so will last a long while.

Size

For beginners, size is an important consideration.  It is usually wise to start small and build your way up in size.  However, not all of the strap-on dildo needs to be inserted, so if you take care and use control a larger strap-on is also suitable.  A larger dildo also gives you room to hold it at the base, so you can wield more control as well.

Vibration

While many strap-on toys don’t have vibration, it is definitely an added bonus, especially for the wearer who will benefit from the additional pleasure.  The Cloud 9 Strapless Dildo comes with a larger bullet vibrator for increased stimulation. Most strap-ons don’t include a vibrator, and if they do, it is a much smaller bullet.  Our bullet is longer so offers more stimulation into the dildo for enhanced pleasure.

strap on vibrator

Pleasure

Yes, we don’t want to forget about pleasure!  After all, that is the reason for getting a sex toy in the first place.  While a strap-on should be pleasurable for the person who is getting penetrated, it is also important that the wearer enjoy pleasure as well, so the experience is more reciprocal. That way, strap-on sex more closely resembles real penis to vagina or anal sex, so both partners enjoy the experience.

The Cloud 9 Strapless Dildo was built for pleasure.  For the partner being penetrated, it features an upward curved shaft for easy penetration, so it hits those spots just right, and has a realistic veined shaft for additional stimulation.  The wearer can enjoy the specially designed pleasure bulb with added vibration, and four ribbed pleasure points that stimulate the clitoris and vulva during use.

The Cloud 9 Strapless Dildo combines vaginal pleasure, clitoral pleasure and anal pleasure all in one, including vibration!

The popularity has grown steadily ever since.”For his part, Nelson asks all of his new patients to complete an intake form about their experience with various sexual activities, including “anal play.” It turns out that more than half of his straight male clients answer that they love having something in their ass. https://melmagazine.com/weve-reached-peak-pegging-culture-c6c7a2649c09

Today’s Topic: G-spot Pleasure using Cloud 9’s New Voice Touch G Spot Rabbit – Music & Voice Activated

Sex Ed with Kylie

Hi, I’m Kylie, and today we are going to learn all about G-spot pleasure, as well as introduce you to Cloud 9’s New Voice Touch G Spot Rabbit, the newest edition to the Cloud 9 family of products.

Voice Touch G Spot Rabbit

Many women and couples are interested in exploring the pleasure of the G-spot erogenous zone as a new way for women to achieve orgasmic pleasure.

The key to building your G-spot toy sales is to make sure that you and your customers are educated on G-spot pleasure, so they can learn how to arouse the G-spot for greater ecstasy and full-bodied orgasms.

The Female Orgasm

While we have come along way since the invention of the vibrator, female pleasure and orgasm still remains somewhat of a mystery.

The most recent study in 2017,[i] has provided some stimulating statistics on the subject.  It found that:

  • 6% of women need clitoral stimulation to achieve orgasm
  • 36% of women didn’t need clitoral stimulation, but found it did make orgasms better
  • 4% of women can orgasm via vaginal penetration alone

So, what does that mean?

While clitoral stimulation is important or preferred for most women to achieve orgasm, vaginal penetration or g-spot arousal can enhance pleasure and make orgasms better, as well as lead to blended or combination orgasms.

What is a Blended Orgasm?

A blended orgasm is an orgasm that results from combined stimulation of both the clitoris and the g-spot simultaneously.  This type of orgasm is usually longer lasting, felt deeper in the body, more powerful and can result in continuous waves of orgasmic pleasure, rather than the quick tension and release peaks of a clitoral orgasm.

Female Anatomy

female sexuality

When a woman experiences a clitoral orgasm, it is because only the tip (glans) of the clitoris is being stimulated, which is that tiny nub that is visible at the top of the vulva.  Many people are not aware, however, that the clitoris is a much larger structure and goes deep beneath the vulva, like a wishbone, with the clitoral glans being the joint where the two bones connect.  The legs of the clitoris are like the bones of the wishbone and extend down the sides of the vulva internally and surround the vaginal opening.

When a woman becomes aroused, this clitoris swells with erectile tissue, including the tissue in the area where the g-spot is located.  Together, the clitoris and g-spot make up the female erectile network and are responsible for mind-blowing orgasms.  That is why combining clitoral and g-spot stimulation is one of the best ways for women to obtain more powerful orgasms.

What is the G-spot?

What is the G-spot?

What is the g-spot?  That seems to be the burning question these days surrounding female pleasure.  Does the g-spot even exist?  While some researchers insist that the g-spot is merely fabricated like a whimsical Unicorn, many researchers and sexologists have done studies that support the existence of the g-spot and validate women’s experiences.[ii]

Where is the G-spot Located?

The g-spot was first named after German gynecologist Ernst Gräfenberg.  It is associated with the male prostate gland and said to be a part of the urethral sponge[iii].  It is an erogenous zone located 1-3 inches inside the vagina on the front (anterior) wall.  Stimulation of this area can lead to powerful orgasms and sometimes female ejaculation, in some women.

Does Every Woman Have a G-spot?

Does Every Woman Have a G-spot?

That’s like asking if every woman has a nose.  Yes, “most” women have a g-spot unless for some quirk of nature she was born without one or lost it due to injury or surgery.  Just like all men have a prostate gland, as women, we are all anatomically the same to varying degrees.

Where it is located inside the vagina could vary, and for some women it may be very hard to find.  This is because a woman needs to be very turned on in order to find the g-spot in the first place, and she needs to enjoy g-spot stimulation, or it may not feel very pleasurable to her.  Some women like their clitoris stimulated directly, while other women can’t stand it due to sensitivity.  The same is true for the g-spot and every woman will experience sexual stimulation and pleasure differently.

G-spot Orgasms and Squirting

G-spot orgasms are similar to combination or blended orgasms in that they feel deeper, stronger, more intense and last longer than clitoral orgasms.  Some women say they feel “oceanic” or watery, like intense undulating waves of pleasure that flood them with ecstasy.  G-spot orgasms can result in female ejaculation, also called squirting.  But, squirting can also occur without orgasm as well, and via other types of stimulation including clitoral.

How to Find the G-spot?

How to Find the G-spot?

The g-spot can be stimulated with fingers, a penis, or a sex toy.  Remember, it is only 1-2 inches inside of the vagina, so penetration does not need to be very deep.  It is located on the upper wall inside of the vagina, just above the Mound of Venus and below the belly button.  If you made an upside-down triangle with your thumbs and pointer fingers pointing down towards your pubic bone from your belly button (Yoni Mudra), it would be the area where your fingertips point.

Internally, if you feel inside the vagina on the top wall, there is an area that feels different than the surrounding tissue which is smooth like the insides of your cheeks.  The g-spot area will feel wrinkled or pruney like a deflated balloon.  Once stimulated and after which a woman becomes very aroused, the g-spot will swell and become more puffy.  That’s the spot!

How to Stimulate the G-spot?

The best way to try out any new sexual activity is to explore to find out what you like.  This often means exploring solo via masturbation, often with the aid of a toy designed for that purpose.  The reason you may want to explore solo is that you don’t have to worry about performing, or what you may look like, whether or not you may even like it, as well as unexpected reactions or emotions.  The importance of solo exploration is to not be goal oriented, but just to explore, try different things, take your time and enjoy the journey and what you learn from it.  That can be harder to do with a partner.

Many experts agree that using a toy to aid in stimulation when trying a new sexual activity is very beneficial as well.  This is certainly true of g-spot exploration, because it is a lot easier to use a g-spot toy designed for hitting that spot, than it is to use your own fingers.  While you may want to start with your fingers to feel around and find the g-spot, after you do, you can then switch to a toy which will give you a better reach and aid in stamina, so your arm and wrist don’t become fatigued.

Step by Step G-spot Exploration

G-spot Play

  1. First, make sure you warm yourself up with some self-loving foreplay.  Do whatever normally turns you on and when you feel very aroused, then you can start to explore your g-spot.
  2. Make sure your hands are clean, nails are trimmed with no rough edges (or wear gloves) and feel around inside of the vagina to find your g-spot on the top belly side.
  3. Once you have found it, just explore what it feels like: both the shape, size, a texture of it, and how it feels to touch it.
  4. The g-spot has a head, body and tail.  The head starts at the vaginal opening, the body is the wrinkly part that swells, and the tail is the innermost part that ends in a hump.  The tail is where your fingers would curl around in a “come hither” movement and is usually where you would feel the most sensation.[iv]  Stroke all over of the g-spot and feel which areas are most stimulating to you. Try different types of strokes: rubbing, circles, prodding, pressing, squeezing, and note which ones feel best.
  5. Once you are more aroused, have explored lots of different strokes and have an idea of what you might like, now you can transition to your toy.  Try rubbing, stroking, applying pressure, and then adding vibration to see what types of touch feel best.  Again, go slow, and take your time to feel into it, and allow yourself to identify the sensations you are feeling.  This is all going to be new to you, so some sensations may feel alien or weird at first and not even pleasurable until you pursue them more.
  6. Some sensations you may feel as your g-spot awakens are: strange tingling; filling with pressure; feeling like you need to pee; electric jolts of energy in your thighs, calves or feet; a feeling of elation or euphoria; dizziness; an urge to cry, laugh or other sudden emotion; or other strange feelings and sensations all over your body.  Again, these may feel peculiar at first, but keep going with what feels right and exploring, and soon these sensations should become pleasurable.
  7. At some point you may feel like you are going to explode, or orgasm.  This may feel like a dam building inside of you about to burst, accompanied by heightened sensations of ecstasy and pleasure.  Allow yourself to continue to go with the flow.  Remember to breathe deeply and allow the orgasmic energy to circulate through your body.  Let your body relax and let go.  You can use your PC muscle (pubococcygeus muscle) to push out with each exhale, to push you over the edge into orgasm.  If that happens, awesome!  You have just experienced a g-spot orgasm!  If it doesn’t happen, that’s fine too. Sometimes it takes a few tries to go over the edge into orgasm.  The most important thing is that you explored and learned more about how your body responds to that type of stimulation.

Expert Tips on G-spot Play

When exploring the g-spot, here are some expert tips to keep in mind.

female masturbation

  • Make sure you are really turned on first. The g-spot will remain elusive until you are aroused.
  • Use lots of the lube. The juicer you feel the better.
  • Place a towel under your butt in case your ejaculate.
  • Go slow, remember to breathe deep.
  • Rock your hips and push out with your PC muscle in a rhythm that matches your breathing.
  • The g-spot enjoys pressure, so try pressing into the tail, and then rubbing along the body towards the front of the vagina in continuous strokes. You can also prod the body of the g-spot rhythmically.
  • Rock your g-spot toy up and down, applying pressure, rather than going in and out.
  • Relax, let go and surrender to pleasure.
  • Do what feels right to you.
  • Vocalize if you feel you need to: moan, cry, scream. This helps circulate sexual energy.
  • Don’t be overly goal-orientated. Enjoy the journey for its own sake and see what happens.
  • Be curious and have open expectations.
  • Don’t worry if you don’t orgasm the first time. Practice makes perfect.

What About Female Ejaculation?

female ejaculation

Female ejaculation happens when a woman is very turned on and often involves stimulation of the g-spot.  However, some women can ejaculate via clitoral stimulation or by some other means as well.  Ejaculation can and usually does occur simultaneously with orgasm.  But, women can experience orgasm without ejaculation and ejaculation without orgasm.  While related, ejaculation and orgasm are two separate things, just like it is in men.

Some women squirt naturally during stimulation or penetration, whereas other women may need to learn how to accomplish this. Being able to orgasm and ejaculate simultaneously often takes practice and the ability to let go and surrender. Women who are in tune with their body or have great body awareness and acceptance may also find it much easier.  In other words, they don’t worry about how they look or sound, and can simply let go.

Some women may fear that their ejaculate is urine, which could stop them from ejaculation.  Or, they may not feel comfortable with their body sexually, may not have explored their sexual potential enough, may have issues with letting go, or sharing openly with a partner.

Then there are some women who may never experience ejaculation or g-spot orgasm for one reason or another, or may not find they want to, or may find it doesn’t give them pleasure or may even feel uncomfortable.  Some women may even experience pain when exploring the g-spot which could be due to vaginitis or body armouring.

While the g-spot can be amazing to explore for many women and couples, it is not for everyone.  So, don’t put pressure on yourself to have to like it if you don’t. We all experience pleasure differently and that is the great thing about being you and unique!

And, if you did squirt, there is nothing to be ashamed about.  Female ejaculate is not urine[v] (although it may contain small traces of urine) and is natural.  In ancient times female ejaculate was worshipped as Amrita, the divine nectar of the Gods!

Curiosity About G-spot Play Can Translate into Sales

With the increase in popularity of g-spot arousal, many women and couples want to learn this exotic pleasure and broaden their sexual horizons.  Many sexual health experts agree that the best way to learn about g-spot stimulation is with a specifically designed toy first during solo play.  That way, individuals can explore g-spot stimulation at their leisure, without worrying about performance, goals or other distractions that enables them to tune into their body and learn what type of pleasure it likes.

This gives you, the sales representative, the opportunity to educate the consumer about g-spot pleasure and how they can use g-spot vibrators to explore this new exciting activity.

What to Look for in a G-spot Vibrator for Beginners

G-spot VibratorShape of Toy

G-spot toys have a distinct shape.  Most feature a long, curved shaft with a flat or bulbous head.

The curved shaft is to enable the user to hit the spot easier, while the flat or bulbous head stimulates more surface area for greater arousal.

Dual purpose toys, or Rabbit vibrators are designed to stimulate both the clitoris and g-spot simultaneously to enable the user to achieve blended orgasms.

These toys feature a longer curved shaft for the g-spot, and a shorter thumb-like shaft to stimulate the clitoris.

Vibration

vibrators for G-spotFor any vibrator, vibration is a very important consideration.  Single speed doesn’t often cut it anymore in our world of multiple buzzing, stroking, tingling, throbbing, pulsating, gyrating, rotating, escalating, osculating fun.

We want our vibrators advanced with multiple functions and pleasure options.  So, make sure to look for vibrators with various options.

Another significant factor is power. The best-selling vibrators on the market tend to be the most powerful, so having multiple speeds settings from low to high is also a key feature.

Ease of use when it comes to controlling the vibration settings is very important while you are playing.  Having separate on/off buttons as well as buttons that turn the power up and down could make the difference between a frustrating or fulfilling orgasmic experience.

Material

When purchasing a vibrator, you should also think about material. You want something that is body-safe, phthalate free and easy to clean.  For g-spot vibrators, a firmer core is preferable as the g-spot likes firm pressure, while a soft outer material that feels more flesh like is a desirable texture.  Silicone is one of the best sex toy materials because it is body-safe, easy to clean, phthalate free, and firm yet softly textured.

Design

ergonomic handle

Design is often overlooked when purchasing a sex toy, but having a quality design is very important, as you want something that is long lasting, well-crafted and won’t smash or break apart easily.  Also, the quality of the motor should be considered as that will decide the power of the vibrator and its durability.

An ergonomic handle is an added bonus as well, especially for g-spot arousal because it can be a difficult area to get to comfortably due to the angle and it can also be labor intensive.  Having a well shaped handle takes the stress on the hands and wrists while trying to position the toy to your best advantage.

[i] The study purpose was to assess, in a U.S. probability sample of women, experiences related to orgasm, sexual pleasure, and genital touching. In June 2015, 1,055 women ages 18 to 94 from the nationally representative GfK KnowledgePanel® completed a confidential, Internet-based survey. While 18.4% of women reported that intercourse alone was sufficient for orgasm, 36.6% reported clitoral stimulation was necessary for orgasm during intercourse, and an additional 36% indicated that, while clitoral stimulation was not needed, their orgasms feel better if their clitoris is stimulated during intercourse. Women reported diverse preferences for genital touch location, pressure, shape, and pattern. Clinical, therapeutic, and educational implications are discussed. The tail is the area approximately two inches inside the vagina where one’s finger naturally curves around the tail of this organ and is the famous location where most women feel the most sensation — only if they have not yet awakened their entire G-spot. In a fully awakened G-spot, the entire organ is sensitive. https://isismedia.org/the-g-shot/

Cloud 9 Novelties Presents New Anal GEMS

Sex Ed with Kylie Jensen

Today’s Topic: Anal Play using Cloud 9’s New GEMs Anal Line

Sex Ed with KylieHi, I’m Kylie, and today’s topic is all about Anal Play as well as an introduction to Cloud 9 Novelties Anal GEMs, the newest edition to the Cloud 9 family of products.

The key to building your anal toy sales is to make sure that you and your customers are educated on how to best introduce anal play to their lifestyle in a safe and pleasurable way.

GEMS Anal Plugs

Anal Play is the New Normal

While anal play used to be quite taboo, recent studies between 2015-2017 show that at least 40% of the population has tried it as least once, and it has become more popular between heterosexual couples under the age of 45, with at least 44% of straight men and 36% of straight women engaging in the act. In the most recent study by Skyn Condoms, at least 15% of men are engaging in male anal sex in which they are on the receiving side.

Anal sex play is a normal, fun and pleasurable sexual activity for couples, whether they are heterosexual or GBLTQ identified.

Curiosity About Anal Play Can Translate into Sales

couple shopping for sex toys
With the increase in popularity of Anal Play becoming more mainstream, men, women and couples are growing more curious about anal stimulation as a new erotic adventure they can explore, either solo, or with their partner.  According to most sexual health experts, the best way to explore Anal Play is by trying out anal toys designed for anal pleasure first, before engaging in anal sex. That way, individuals can explore anal penetration in a safe way without worrying about performance or discomfort, thereby enabling them to become skilled and experienced before taking the ultimate plunge.

This gives you, the sales representative, the opportunity to educate the consumer about Anal Play and how they can use anal pleasure products to explore this new exciting activity.

How to Introduce Anal Play into Your Relationship

couple talking about sex
For couples, talking to their partner about anal play for the first time can be intimidating and rather uncomfortable.  This guide provides tips for broaching the subject.

Long before couple’s first engage in Anal Play they should talk about it first.  Anal Play is not something you want to surprise your partner with in the middle of a heated encounter.  Rather, it should be discussed out of the bedroom first to avoid placing pressure on either partner and novice enthusiasm that can lead to clumsy or painful mistakes.

Good communication about your sexual preferences results in higher relationship satisfaction and better sex.  Discussing new ways to keep things spicy also prevents bedroom boredom or a lack of desire and low libido. For those reasons, healthy communication about sex between partners is important and it is also beneficial to talk about new activities before diving right in.

Tips for Talking About Sexual Intimacy with Your Partner

couple anal sex

  • Make Time for Meaningful Conversation
  • Don’t Assume You Know What They are Thinking
  • Ask Questions
  • Be Honest About Your Boundaries
  • Practice Active Listening
  • Take Turns Expressing Your Desires
  • Compliment Each Other on What Your Like
  • Don’t Judge Your Partner
  • Don’t Pressure Your Partner into Something They Don’t Want to Try
  • Give Your Partner Time to Think About a New Activity Before They Answer
  • Use “I” Statements and Take Responsibilities for Your Own Emotions
  • Keep the Conversation Light and Playful
  • Remember That Open Communication Leads to Greater Intimacy

Why Would Couples Want to Explore Anal Play Together?

Both the exterior of the anus, and the interior of the rectum, have thousands of sensitive nerve tissues that can make anal play quite erotic and pleasurable when performed correctly and safely.  For women, anal play can be an add-on to other types of sexual pleasure including oral sex and vaginal penetration. Anal play can also be enjoyed by women for the pure pleasure of it for it own sake.  For men, the prostate gland, or male G-spot is located inside of the anus and when massaged with a finger, toy or via anal intercourse, can lead to intense, full-bodied orgasms.

Exploring Anal Play Together

If both partners decide, that “Yes!”, they would like to experiment with Anal Play together, then it is an ideal time to brush up on their sex education and find out what types of anal toys they make like to explore.  A great way to begin is to go shopping together for sex toys, either online or instore.

When a customer comes into your store for the first time, make sure to offer the highest quality experience by offering educational resources, asking questions, and showing the various options available for exploring a new sexual activity.

How to Choose Anal Plugs for a Beginner

Gems Anal PlugTo help your customer choose the appropriate Anal Plug for them, there are certain considerations they should think about before deciding.  You can assist them in selecting the perfect toy by asking appropriate questions and by providing your expert knowledge about Anal Toys.

Anal Plugs are a great anal toy for beginners because once they are inserted they stay in place to allow users to get used to the sensation of anal penetration.  In addition, Anal Plugs can be used hands-free, can be combined with other types of pleasure including vaginal penetration to enhance the overall experience, and they can heighten sexual pleasure by applying pressure to other erogenous zones as they create the feeling of “fullness”.

Anal Plugs come in a variety of styles, designs, sizes and materials, so it is important to consider these options before making a purchasing decision, in order to help your customer choose the right anal plug for them.

Size Matters

anal plug sizes

For beginners, it is a good idea to start off with the smallest size Anal Plug to enable them to get comfortable with the feeling of having something inserted in their rectum.  Cloud 9 Jeweled GEMs come in three different sizes depending on your level of experience and ability. Small is for beginners, Medium is for intermediate users, and Large is for advanced users.  Cloud 9 also offers the GEMs Jeweled Silicone Anal Plug Training Kit which allows users to gradually increase size with their level of experience over time so is perfect for beginners and those wanting to start anal training.

Shape and Design of Toy

One of the most important considerations when it comes to purchasing an Anal Plug is the shape and design of the toy.

A well-designed anal plug should feature a smooth narrowed tip, so it is easy to insert and allows the user’s muscle to slowly relax around the toy so it can gradually ease it inside.  A wide, flared anchored base that is intended to stay firmly in place is also important as it keeps the toy from being inserted too far and allows for easy retrieval. The body of the toy should have a conical shape that widens into a thicker bulb with a narrow neck at the bottom before the flared base, to increase stimulation of contractions and expansions during orgasm.  Anal Plugs with a longer neck are also more comfortable to wear and help keep the toy in place for longer periods of use, as the anal sphincter naturally tightens around it. Once inserted, anal plugs are made to stay in place as the anal muscles grip the neck, creating a sensation of fullness without the back-and-forth motion.

anal plug features

All of Cloud 9’s Anal Plugs, including the GEM series, are designed with a tapered tip for easy insertion, feature a flared base that anchors to keep the toy in place, and have a longer neck for better comfort.  The silicone designs also feature a flexible tip, so users can wear them for an entire day with maximum enjoyment.

Type of Material

A softer material such as silicone is desirable when starting out as it is less intrusive and offers a more supple, pliable toy that conforms better to the user’s body. Silicone plugs can also be worn comfortably for an entire day of use.  Cloud 9 Jeweled GEMs come in two types of materials: high quality silicone and chrome plated stainless steel. The soft, wearable silicone is velvety smooth and perfect for beginners. The silicone plugs also feature a flexible tip so the user can wear the plug for entire day, if they so choose.  The stainless-steel design is ultra smooth for slick anal insertion and is also a great material for beginners as its firm design offers greater sensation.

Metal Versus Silicone Anal Plugs

Metal Anal Plugs Silicone Anal Plugs
  • Stainless Steel, Chrome Plated
  • Hypoallergenic, nonporous, odorless, and body-safe
  • Easy and safe to clean and sterilize
  • Wash with mild soap and water
  • Can’t be boiled for cleaning, wash with soap and water
  • Tapered to fit for easy insertion
  • Flared base keeps plug in place and allows for easy retrieval
  • Smooth, slick, hard chrome plated steel offers more intense pleasure
  • Great for temperature play for added sensation when placed in hot or cold water
  • Cool at first and warms up to body temperature
  • Sparkling Anal Jewelry decorated with a stunning rainbow multicolor acrylic gem
  • 100% Premium Silicone
  • Hypoallergenic, nonporous, odorless, and body-safe
  • Easy and safe to clean and sterilize
  • Top Rack Dishwasher safe
  • Can be boiled for cleaning if GEM is removed
  • Tapered to fit for easy insertion
  • Flared base keeps plug in place and allows for easy retrieval
  • Soft, wearable, flexible material that allow users to wear all day
  • Great for temperature play for added sensation when placed in hot or cold water
  • Warm at first and heats up to body temperature
  • Sparkling Anal Jewelry decorated with a stunning rainbow multicolor acrylic gem

The main difference between metal plugs versus silicone plugs is the firmness of the material. Metal plugs are hard and inflexible and therefore offer greater stimulation.  Silicone plugs are more flexible, so can be worn for longer periods of time with maximum comfort. While both types can be used for temperature play, metal plugs offer greater sensation as they conduct hot and cold more effectively.  Only the silicone GEMs anal plugs can be sterilized in the dishwater, by removing the gem beforehand.

Are They Body-Safe?

Another chief factor to think about is whether the toy is body-safe.  Cloud 9 Jeweled GEMs come in two types of materials: high quality silicone and chrome plated stainless steel, both of which are hypoallergenic, nonporous, odorless, Phthalate-free, 100% body safe, and can be sterilized for safe use and hygienic anal play.

Can They Be Sterilized?

butt plugs for anal play
When purchasing an anal toy, it is essential to take into account whether the toy can be sterilized and disinfected for safe anal play.  The anus harbors bacteria that should never be cross-contaminated with vaginal play as it could disrupt the fragile flora inside the vagina and cause yeast infections or worse.  For that reason, anal toys should always be thoroughly cleaned and sterilized before and after use, especially if you plan to share your toy with your partner. STIs and HIV can be passed on during anal play if toys are not properly disinfected and sterilized first.

Both GEMs silicone and stainless steel Anal Plugs can be cleaned with warm water and a mild soap.  The Silicone GEM plugs can be added to the top rack of your dishwater or boiled in hot water for 10 minutes to disinfect.  Note: In the silicone plugs, gems should be removed from tips before boiling or dishwater clean up. For quick clean-up, use Cloud 9 Triclosan-Free Premium Toy Cleaner to gently clean surface bacteria and disinfect your toys.  This premium toy cleaner is water soluble, safe on all types of materials, mild enough for everyday use, as well as eco-friendly and Triclosan-free.

Allow plugs to thoroughly dry then store separately in a cool, dry place.  Don’t allow toys with soft materials to be stored together, as they may melt due to a chemical reaction in the silicone or rubber.

As a sales representative you can take advantage of an upsell opportunity by offering your customer a premium toy cleaner to purchase, especially with anal play toys.

Expert Anal Tips for Beginners

Lube it Up:

anal lubricantWhen it comes to anal play, lube is your butt’s best friend.  The anus is not self-lubricated, so applying plenty of lube before and during any play is an absolute requirement.  Cloud 9 Novelties Paraben Free Water Based Personal Lubricant is safe to use on any sex toy material. This premium personal lubricant is thick, gentle, feels silky on the skin and is long lasting, so perfect for anal use.  It is recommended not to use silicone lubricant on silicone toys.

Pain Versus Pleasure:

Anal sex should never hurt.  If it does, you are going too fast, or not warmed up enough. Always make sure to enjoy lots of foreplay before attempting anal play, so you are turned on and relaxed and ready for anal penetration.  It is important to go slow with anal play, and only take as much inside as is comfortable. Never force anal play and allow the anus to slowly suck in the toy naturally.

For that reason, we also advise to never use numbing products, because you should be able to feel what is going on down there, and the whole point is to increase your pleasure, not numb any pain.  Always communicate with your partner about how it feels during anal play, or when to slow down, change angles or stop.

Keep it Clean:

cloud9toycleaner4oz_1024x1024.jpgAgain, cleanliness with anal play can’t be stressed enough.  Follow proper hygiene before starting anal play. Wear gloves for fingering, condoms for penis to anus penetration, and dental dams for oral to anus sex.

Cloud 9 Jeweled GEMs can be sterilized for safe use and hygienic anal play.

From Novice to Pro:

Rome wasn’t built in a day, they say, and in order to become a Pro at Anal Play, you need to start at the beginning, go slow, and build your way up.  Anal plugs are ideal for beginners, as you can use them for anal training to prepare the anus to slowly get accustomed to stretching around larger objects with time and to prepare one for anal sex. That means starting with the smallest Anal Plug, allowing yourself to get used to it for longer periods of time, and slowly working yourself up to bigger sizes.  Cloud 9 offers the GEMs Jeweled Silicone Anal Plug Training Kit which allows users to gradually increase size with their level of experience over time. This kit is perfect for beginners and those wanting to start anal training, so they can gradually increase the size slowly, and eventually transition from Novice to Pro.

anal plug training kit

The GEMs Training Kit is also ideal for users who want to implement anal training to prepare for anal intercourse and expand their pleasure horizons.  In addition, the silicone plugs feature flexible tips for a user that would like to wear the plug for entire day. For long-term wear make sure you also build up to this as well, by starting with 30 minutes at a time and increasing by 30 minutes each day if all goes well.  Continue increasing the amount of time that you wear the plug by gradual increments daily. Be sure to listen to your body, and only wear for as long as comfortable. If you feel any pain or discomfort, then it is time to remove the plug until another day. Remember, you can’t go too slow with anal play and training.

Temperature Play:

Another bonus with Cloud 9 Novelties Anal GEMS is that they can be used for temperature play.  Temperature play is a type of sensation play that employs the use of hot and cold substances or items on the body for sensual pleasure.  Both GEMs Silicone Plugs and Chromed Anal Plugs can be used for sensation play by warming or cooling the plugs in hot or cold water. You can also immerse your anal plug in a bowl of ice for a few minutes to enhance a sensual chill or wrap your anal plug in a hot towel that has been heated in the microwave previously for a sultry sensation (Warning: Don’t place the anal plugs in the microwave, just the towels!).

temperature play

Both silicone and stainless steel are excellent conductors of hot and cool, so perfect for temperature play. Metal toys will conduct temperature better than silicone and hold it longer, so will provide even more sensation.  Be careful however, as these hot and cool sensations will be amplified when inserted into the anus. Be sure to test heated or cooled toys on the inside of the wrist first before insertion.

“Tools for Wellness Don’t End at the Gym…..but they can Start in the Bedroom”

Often times when we think of Health and Wellness plans, the first things we think of are going to the gym so many days per week, taking our vitamins, avoiding trans fats and maybe a smoothie here and now again. But rarely do you hear about adding the bedroom…….or the couch, or the shower, or the laundry room J to that list. Why not? Not to over-play the “Fifty Shades of Grey” adventure, but this was one of first times I felt that it was acknowledged how important our physical health is, as it relates to experiencing hot sex. Of course he was a bit controlling in his efforts, but hey- that was the nature of their relationship right?!  That being said, you can start embarking on your efforts to doing a few extra push-ups at the gym, or skipping the fast food, but it’s not just what you are ingesting. Have you ever thought about what you are absorbing? We are learning more and more about the chemicals and additives that are being added to our body-care products and lubricants. Rule of thumb; if you can’t eat it, you probably shouldn’t put it on your skin! Our skin is a wonderful barrier, but it was also designed to be a transporter, and what we put on our skin gets absorbed into our body. It can have the same benefits, or damages as what we ingest. And we all know now, that what we eat affects how we feel. Well, same notion applies externally; what we put ON our bodies affects how we feel. In addition to that, why not enhance the positive effects of our body-care products and lubricants? Essential oils can have a profound effect on our sensory system. By instigating some sensory reaction, we can heighten the sexual experience naturally. They call it intimacy for a reason. Get intimate with your senses. The best transports for crossing the semi-permeable membranes of our skin are clean oils, with no petrochemicals to interfere with the medicinal qualities that should penetrate the skin. Okay, before I lose your attention with some scientific explanations on skin care and how our skin works, let me leave you with this one thing to remember……..taking care of your body, inside and out, will enhance your sexual experience. Fact. Using products that are full of chemicals and fillers will over time cause cells and tissues to break down, making you less healthy. Fact. So when you start the New Year with your workout plan, don’t forget the bedroom. You will be better for it, and may I add that it might be more fun than the gym too!!
